Within the last couple of weeks, AT&T brought more 4G LTE cellular coverage to its customers. Tuesday, AT&T continues rolling out their 4G LTE cellular network in five more cities. They have also expanded existing 4G LTE cellular coverage in some locations where AT&T’s 4G LTE was already available.
AT&T’s 4G LTE is now available in the following five cities:
- Oxford, Mississippi
- Tucson, Arizona
- Melbourne, Florida
- Springfield, Massachusetts
- Green Bay, Wisconsin
AT&T has also expanded their 4G LTE cellular coverage in the following locations:
- Phoenix, Arizona
- New Brunswick, New Jersey
- Salt Lake City, Utah
- Los Angeles, California
As AT&T’s 4G LTE coverage map grows, AT&T gains more potential subscribers, so it’s great to see the network continue to grow. In locations where 4G LTE coverage is not available, iPhone 5 users can drop down to a 4G HSPA+ network, which offers up to 14.4mb/s downlink rather than 4G LTE’s potential 100mb/s downlink. The iPhone 4S can use this network as well, but does not have the hardware for 4G LTE. These figures, of course, assume perfect network conditions and aren’t realistic in real-world usage.
In other related news, AT&T has also today rolled out a new free Wi-Fi hotzone in Chicago, Illinois for the people along the city’s popular North Michigan Avenue.
Has AT&T's 4G LTE hit your area yet?
