  • New iMacs Now Available for Order in the U.S. via Apple's Online Store

It looks like unlocked iPhone 5s aren’t the only Apple products going on sale today as the Cupertino California company begins to accept orders for the new iMac in their online store as well. For those of you who aren’t familiar with it already, the new iMacs offer dramatically reduced thickness and add a brand new Fusion Drive that combines flash storage and a traditional disk-based hard drive to maximize both speed and capacity.

As far as the price goes, the 21.5” model starts at $1,299 and $1,499 while the 27” model starts at $1,799 and $1,999. When it comes to shipping, the 21.5” model has a shipping-in time of “1-3 business days” while the 27” model has a shipping-in time of “2-3 weeks.” It should also be noted that the 21.5” iMacs are currently limited in stock so if you planned on getting one, you best do it sooner rather than later. There also seem to be some iMac build-to-order options that offer a variety of RAM, Processor, Hard Drive and Graphics Card upgrades that are available for specific models.

As mentioned before, if you were planning on getting one of the new iMacs for yourself, a family member, or a friend for the holiday season, you may want to jump on the supply while it lasts in order to ensure you get it in time. We all know those empty boxes with pictures of products don’t make good presents for the holidays so don’t end up being the lame gift-giver.

Just ordered a loaded up top-o-the line 27" iMac! Can't wait to receive it!
This calls for the Sexy Parrot baby!
This is the most anticipation I have ever had ordering a new Mac since I have waited so long. My MacBook Pro is getting tired.

No, I did skip the SSD as they are to much right now and went with the 3tb. I have a fusion in my Pro now and it works great. I will wait till the SSD's come down in price before I go that route. I also opted to skip the Apple ram and ordered my own. I got it for half the cost of the Apple ram. Other than that I upgraded the rest.

It's a lot cheaper to do your own upgrade for the RAM
like hear in the uk if I buy my own ram it's only £115
I thought the SSD wood be more like £400 for the SSD I'm shocked the price at over a grand

I can't wait to get one eventually I'm still rocking my white 13" MacBook. So need an upgrade. 21" will do just fine. 27" is way too damn big for me.

Future proofing. If I'm gonna get 2 16meg sticks, why not 4?
Honestly I don't know if I will go that high, I have ordered 32 (2x16).
I do use a lot of graphic design applications though.
You could get 64 for what Apple wants for 32.

Well I should probably get 4 sticks of 8 then. The 16mg sticks are expensive! I was assuming it would support more as we know previous models supported more than Apple said it could. I can't find solid facts on how much Ivy Bridge will support.
