Following today’s iTunes 11 update for Windows and Mac OS X, Apple has also pushed out an update to their iTunes Remote application for iOS to version 3.0. The update includes support for the new features in iTunes 11, an updated and simplified interface that shows the latest iTunes 11 icon, and a better interface on the iPad.
If you’ve never used the Remote application before, it allows you to pair your iOS device with your iTunes library and control music from your computer using your iOS device. It’s great for parties and get-togethers where you may have music playing and it works over your home Wi-Fi network so you can be anywhere in your house to use it.

The new interface on the iPad looks almost exactly like the iTunes 11 you’ll be seeing on your computer screen. From it, you can browse through your Music content, create playlists, manage your volume, and control your music. Song search has also been improved.
Remote 3.0 also includes support for iTunes 11’s new “Up Next” feature, which allows you to see and edit upcoming songs; perfect for when you see an upcoming song that you don’t feel like listening to, as you can switch it to something else you actually do want to listen to.
In addition, songs you have in iCloud and not on your computer can also be played from your computer through iTunes 11, as this is a new feature included in iTunes 11.
Existing users can update Remote from the Updates tab in the App Store, alternatively you can download Remote for free from this link.
