Apple Seeds OS X 10.8.3 Preview to Developers
Apple made good on their promise and seeded a preview build of OS X 10.8.3 Monday.
The new build of Apple’s Lion operating system is build 12D32 and is another security and maintenance update. Apple is asking developers to focus their testing on Airplay, Airport, and Graphics while testing the new build. Some of the known issues include preferences in Software update that may appear shifted, especially in non-English versions of OS X as well as background graphics appearing black or transparent after waking a machine from sleep.
Also, users have reported problems switching between programs with the Command-Tab keyboard shortcut. Outside of these known issues it appears Apple wants developers to make sure their programs, and accessories mesh with Airplay and Airport, this could be in response to the influx of Apple products making their way into homes over the holiday season. If any issues haven’t been discovered yet, anxious consumers will surely uncover any problems that slip through the cracks in the next few months.
The last build of OS X featured system-wide Facebook integration back in September. Expect the forthcoming release to be more security and performance related.
