  • Report Says iPhone 5S Will See Trial Production Run Next Month

    While it may seem ridiculously premature to begin speculating about the next-generation iPhone, not even two months have passed since the iPhone 5 was released and we're already hearing chatter about the next-gen model - the "iPhone 5S."

    Now, before we go any further, it's important to point out that at no time has the source of this information suggested that the iPhone 5S is coming soon. It isn't. Merely a trial production of the device is going to commence next month, although it isn't yet clear what the hardware looks like.

    Apple is expected to begin trial production of a new version of its iPhone 5, or iPhone 5S, in December with initial production volumes likely to top 50,000-100,000 units, according to a Chinese-language Commercial Times report.
    This report about the iPhone 5S first appeared in DigiTimes this morning. The same report adds that iPhone 5S likely won't enter "volume production" into well into 2013, after the conclusion of the first quarter of 2013.

      I can't wait for next year so I can upgrade to the newer (hopefully better) piece of junk iPhone 5 (i.e. iPhone 5s/6).

      I feel like its still to early to assume apple will keep adding the s. Like i dont feel that its something apple plans on just doing every year if they do it again I can see its a pattern but i feel its too early to assume it is a trend.

      Sweet! Darn right the S versions are always better (why I have 3s & 4s). Easy updates for iPhone 5s:

      - Liquid Metal Housing (because of scuff-gate and because LM wasn't ready in time for iP5)
      - Lighted Logo notifications, w, y, r, g, b, etc (dreaming past my 4S lighted logo mod)
      - NFC (its gonna happen, at least Apple's version of it, they wont risk falling behind)
      - Bluetooth Mesh capability (this is cake to do and Apple has the stones to do it)
      - 128GB (Apps especially games on iOS are getting richer and larger in size not to mention HD video)
      - WIDGETS in iOS6 (they know iOS needs to evolve past reliable, safe, and boring "Toyota Camrization")
      - Finally, an INFORMATIONAL LOCK-SCREEN and not like the fake IntelliScreen X either!

      Moral? "Fools Rush in". Just sayin...

      apple better keep up with the innovations, iPhone 5 isn't that impressive to begin with, of course the hardware upgrade is nice, but we all get sick and tired of the same os over and over again. Apple has always been innovative and revolutionary, where did that go , to the grave along with Steve jobs???

      It's not happening because too many people updated and not due for upgrade til september therefore apples opening sales won't be huge,which is not a good move business wise

      If they change ios layout, it won't be until iphone 6 and ios 7.

      ever since the first gen iphone, we have seen a new model every year, so is it any surprise that they are already working on the new model for the 5.
