'Remove Badges' Clears All Icon Badges With An Activator Action
If youíre sure that youíve seen all the notifications your iPhone wants to show you, but those pesky badges just wonít go away, then itís time to make removing them easy for yourself.
A new free jailbreak tweak dubbed Remove Badges
by iOS developer Merlin Mao
gives you the power to remove all the badges from home screen application icons using a simple Activator gesture. You can set the gesture you want to use to clear all those badges from the Remove Badges preferences pane in the Settings application:
After youíve set your Activator Action, you can adjust your white list. Any applications in the white list will retain their application icon badges when you invoke the Activator Action. All the rest of the applications will lose the badge. This illustrates potentially useful functionality if youíre using a tally application, such as Tally Counter
, that shows your current tally in the form of a badge.
Once youíve performed your gesture, the badges are gone and you can use it whenever you get more badges in the future.
We like Remove Badges because itís free and easy to use. There have been tweaks in the past that can remove badges, such as Springtomize 2
, but why pay money when you donít have to? Not to mention, the tweak is compatible with iOS 4, up to iOS 6. You can download the tweak today in the BigBoss repository.
Remove Badges is open source and you can view the source code here
