iPhone 5 Continues Globe Trotting Next Friday
Apple's iPhone 5 will debut in a number of new countries next week, expanding the growing list of nations where the red-hot current-gen Apple smartphone can call home.
Next Friday by this time, consumers in the major emerging markets of India, Greece, and Mexico will be able to purchase the iPhone 5. According to The Economic Times
of India, iPhone 5's release was originally supposed to happen today, but circumstances prevailed and the launch was pushed by one week.
Ahead of the launch, however, Apple began billing for digital content (through iTunes) in the Indian rupee. "The move will benefit the vast app developer community that sells on the App Store as well as the users who download paid applications and content from the company's online store," The Economic Times reports.
Apple will also release the iPhone 5 in the Dominican Republic, Thailand, Bulgaria, Croatia, Malta, and Romania next Friday, November 2nd.
