For those of you that enjoyed great jailbreak tweaks in the past such as Aloud and SpeakEvents, TitleSpeak is a new free jailbreak tweak by iOS developer iHackerMe that allows your iOS device to speak banner notification titles out loud using Siri's voice.
TitleSpeak is intended to be a simple add-on to compliment the notification sound you have set for notifications; it won't silence the notification sound, which is a great feature of the tweak. It only speaks the title of the banner notification and not the content, meaning that everyone around you isn’t going to hear your personal business. Another benefit being that you will know right from your pocket what application is sending you the notification.
For applications like Apple’s Messages, where the title is the name of the person sending you the message, TitleSpeak will speak the person’s name. For third party applications like Twitter or Facebook, TitleSpeak will say, “Twitter” or, “Facebook” in order to let you know which application you are getting an alert from. By default, most of these applications play the Tri-tone alert noise when you get an alert from them, so this tweak will help you distinguish between these applications.
Those hard at seeing will enjoy the tweak too, as it allows more information to be transmitted by sound instead of forcing the person to read it. Albeit they will still have the read the actual message contained within the notification.
The tweak has no options to configure and TitleSpeak’s volume will depend fully on your ringer volume. TitleSpeak won’t do all of the amazing things that paid tweaks like Aloud and SpeakEvents can, although it’s a start for a free tweak. It's not bad for the creation of a 13-year old developer either.
