Apple's iPad mini Now Being Assembled in Brazil
With rumors about the new Apple iPad mini reaching fever pitch this week, we are beginning to hear rumblings about production of the new device commencing in Brazil.
Apple and its manufacturing partner Foxconn have placed no shortage of resources into Brazil and making its South American production output as strong as possible. If the latest suspicion is proven correct, the iPad mini will likely represent Apple's biggest production run out of Brazil.
Sources tell Japanese news blog Macotakara that iPad mini production started in September. There is no indication at this time that Foxconn's Chinese facilities have been used for the same purpose. It should be noted, however, that the Macotakara report did not specifically reference Foxconn, but Apple's production facilities in Brazil at this time are mostly limited to Foxconn and it's operations.
As MMi reported
Monday morning, Apple will start sending invitations to its next press event on October 10th. The release of the iPad mini will most likely take place before the end of October.
