Due to the fact that iOS 6 only has a tethered jailbreak on older devices with the limera1n exploit, the iOS 6 jailbreak isn’t too popular among users right now. Because of this, most of us are still on iOS 5.1.1, as it is the last firmware to have an untethered jailbreak at this point in time. If you like the qualities of iOS 6, but you’re sticking with iOS 5.1.1 to keep your jailbreak, then chances are you’ve been waiting for tweaks to bring some of these cool new features to iOS 5.1.1.
If you like how the Status Bar dynamically changes its color to match the surrounding interface in iOS 6, then you might like this new free jailbreak tweak called StatusColor by iOS developer Alan Yip. The tweak gives you a similar experience of the Status Bar color changing to match the surrounding application interface color.
StatusColor does have some differences in color tones when compared to iOS 6, but for the most part it is pretty good with matching the color. It isn't limited to only one color either – it works for multiple color types, such as the ultra-bright blue color that is produced from Skype:

StatusColor is ultimately the exact opposite of Ryan Petrich’s recently released tweak called AntiTint, as it aims to enable the feature in iOS 5.1.1 where it is non-existent. If you recall, AntiTint removes the dynamic tinting of the Status Bar in iOS 6 where it is existent.
Unfortunately, StatusColor is not iPad-compatible. There have been mixed feelings about the tinted Status Bar in iOS 6, but if you like it, this tweak might just give you the preview you need. Try it out!
