At long last, April 30th is here. And scores of Apple fans will finally get their hands on a new iPad today (or ditch their "ancient" WiFi model for a new iPad 3G). But just as eagerly anticipated as the 3G's arrival itself today is the soon-to-be released iPad "Spirit" jailbreak. And when we say soon-to-be released, we mean really soon. As in... maybe today... or tomorrow. But "soon," nonetheless.
At some point after (don’t ask when!) the iPad 3G is actually in customers’ hands, the first “userland” jailbreak since firmware 1.x will be released by @comex.
In addition, the jailbreak also works on other beloved Apple gadgets. Of course, as any responsible piece of writing would acknowledge, jailbreaking is not for the faint of heart and should only be undertaken by those who know what they're doing and are well aware of the potential risks and consequences - like having your warranty through Apple rendered null and void.
With the formal unveiling of the iPad 3G today, it's now just a matter of time before untethered jailbreaking descends upon all of our cherished iDevices.
