  • Concept Video of iPhone 5 Shows Some of What We May Expect to See Tomorrow

Tomorrow is the big day that the iPhone 5 will be announced by Apple in the beautiful location of Yerba Buena. Itís certainly a highly anticipated event as many Apple fans have been waiting both patiently and impatiently, money in hand, to get their hands on the next-generation handset.

So what can we expect from the next generation iPhone? So far, the rumors are pointing to a possible A6 chip, 4-inch retina display, redesigned sync cable and headphones, redesigned iPhone uni-body design that is 9mm taller and 22% thinner than the iPhone 4S, 4G LTE wireless technology, and a possible bump upwards in memory and storage. Itís a lot to take in at once; as are most of Appleís massive Keynote events, but there might even be more to tomorrow's event than meets the eye.

Above is a video concept of what the iPhone 5 is expected to look like when Apple pulls the curtain on it tomorrow. Also included are a few miscellaneous unofficial concepts that the video artist and graphical designer, Sam Beckett, added just for fun, but are not guaranteed to be a part of it at tomorrow's big event. These unofficial concepts include a home button-based fingerprint scanner for unlocking the device, and a Mission Control toggle interface (part of iOS) that mimics some popular jailbreak tweaks. They're very cool, but likely will not become a reality tomorrow.

We also reached out to Sam Beckett to learn a little more about his thoughts on the video as he was making it. Sam thinks the four-inch screen is going to make the biggest impact on consumers out of all the rest of the features of the iPhone 5 because it has been so highly demanded by the market. Sam also says that while controversial, the reason he included the fingerprint technology in his concept video is because Apple recently purchased AuthenTec Inc. (a security company), but he doesnít see the feature coming to life any sooner than 2013. Mission Control was just a nifty idea of his own because he feels Apple's own controls are bit "unintuitive."

The video is presented in a way that I would expect Apple to present their iPhone video at the Keynote; it has that light and jingly music that just catches your attention. That being said, how many of the features in the video are you expecting to see at tomorrow's iPhone 5 event?

I believe the glass is present to improve cell reception.
It's not to improve. The antennas need some room to work with. Remember the antenna switch with the Verizon iPhone? The antennas for phone/wifi/bluetooth/whatever else they throw reside on the top and bottom (the sides are no longer part of the antenna design to prevent another attenuation issue). This is also the reason the unibody and thinner design is possible in the first place since now the bulk of the device (which will be taller aka more inner real estate to work with) resides in the middle and the top/bottom can be designed with just the antennas in mind.

Guess we'll see tomorrow. Although half the stuff in the video more then likely won't be on this phone.

Umm, what? Your post doesn't make any sense. Also the mods here have no say about which articles get posted and which don't.

Why Does the iPhone Have a 3.5 Inch Screen?
I bet you'd be fine if apple made the screen smaller. The Screen needs to be at Least a little wider so it doesn't look "retarded" & the keyboard is getting cluttered with emoji & the Siri dictation. I have long fingers so it's harder for me but if you got girly hands then you probably don't care.

Wish they would get rid of the home button and just make the hold front of the iPhone to utilize that space for more screen display. Since everything is touch....... Why not, especially after some hundreds having issues with the button apple can minimize that problem by not having one

      I'm calling it now.....

Not gonna be wider. A5X chip (not A6). Same 512mb RAM (which won't be mentioned at the unveiling because its not an improvement. Same storage capacities. No fancy fingerprint scanner. Average battery life (no significant improvement if any). Same UI. No gorilla glass.

Basically just a taller screen with 4G LTE. Just enough to shut everyone up for a couple more years.

Make me a liar Apple. I dare you.

The battery is Definetly going to be improved... Larger screen = larger battery and it is not apple fashion to not mention "improved battery life".

you forgot the " cha ching "

ive had iphones since the 3G, but if the UI is still the same boring design, and there are no significant changes, then its over to android for me.
im tired of being sucked into apple stuff just because its apple, its like ive been brain washed for the last 7 years

Whats the point of making a fake video today when you are only 1 day off the real thing?
No more speculations, just wait one more day.

The iPhone 5 looks like a piece of crap anyway and there are lots of negative posts about it so its not going to be that good as people first hoped for unless your a fanboy then you will want one anyway. I do like my gadgets but NOTHING in the iPhone 5 interests me. The Galaxy S3 looks very promising and heaps better than the iPhone 5 and its still selling very well and will keep selling well even after the iPhone 5 launch.
The main problem with the iPhone 5 is it runs IOS which is a sucky OS.
