    Apple CEO Tim Cook and Samsung CEO Choi Gee Sung should be used to breaking bread by now. In early 2012, the chief executive officers for both warring tech companies met - by judge's orders - to seek a resolution to their ongoing patent battle.

    A resolution wasn't reached. But with the presiding judge in the relentless intellectual property showdown between Apple and Samsung refusing to give up hope, Cook and Sung are going to chat once again.

    This time, however, the chat will be limited to the telephone. “I’m going to make one more request that CEOs from both sides speak by phone,” U.S. District Judge Lucy Koh said today. “I see risks here for both sides."

    “It’s at least worth one more try,” she added, stating clearly for the record that “it’s time for peace.” Of course, it remains to be seen if Apple and Samsung feel the same way. For now, both parties are aggressively pursuing their case and appear wholly unwilling to back down under any circumstances.

    Should be a fun phone call.

      Really, just do what Microsoft did and say that you can use each others patents and be done with it, then get on to creating new products with all of the money being saved.

      That would be the best option but apple will not do that. remember what this lawsuit is really all about--Steve Jobs and his vow to 'destroy' Android. the only thing being destroyed right now is apple's mobile phone market share.

      Dont get your hopes up, this is just gonna drag on for another 10 years like the original Apple vs. Microsoft case. You know the one where steve jobs said microsoft stole the whole personal computer thing from him. But Apple needs to learn that theres this thing called competition and fairness that normal companies and people in a free market country partake in. Sure it prevents you from being a goddamn trillion dollar company, but sometimes you have to learn to stop being greedy, stop accusing others of being successful just so you can once again increase shareholder value by preventing any form of a competitive environment. Every single lawsuit with apple, always the same ****. And Tim Cook is no different than Jobs. Could Samsung have outright stole from apple, yeah pretty likely. But this is no small fruit company and this case is not only hurting their images and revealing their anticompetitive, greedy nature, but ruining a fair free market system from a country that they already rob by keeping their money and jobs oversees. Apple is only innovative in how greedy they are, they are not a "product company" they are are just another big ******* fortune 500 company with more clever tactics.

      Just be happy that other companies are inspired by your products and stop being so f*ing greedy. And I hope Apple loses.

      Apple needs to step back and take a big look at android! Why is it soooo successful? They should do the same exact thing! Licence their iOS to other company's! Make them conform to their (apples) standards!

      Just think a Samsung galaxy SIII running iOS! This is where they will dominate the entire market! They could ask for so much per phone made! Apple would destroy android if they did the android Microsoft approach!

      And Apple is trying to kill the competition because their market share is decreasing. Yea they are not worried
      about Samsung at all.

      That's why I said take the windows approach! Companys couldnt crappify it if they couldn't mess with it other than putting it on their phones! I agree they do what android does and allow a broken os it would turn to s***!

      I can see that none of you know a thing about Android with all your "crapify" comments. from iOS 4 forward, apple has invented nothing new all they've done was add Android, BB and Cydia features to each version of iOS. yet still Bluetooth on an iDevice does NOT work and you still cant add attachments to an email, you still cant replace stock apps with apps of YOUR choice.

      * and for all you who are going to sound off that Bluetooth on an iDevice does work., I made a youtube video showing you 2 iPhone 4's an iPod 4th Gen, a Galaxy Note, Galaxy S III, Galaxy S II and Galaxy Tab 10.1 all in the same video and NONE OF THE iDevices Bluetooth work. the 2 iPhones can detect NOTHING while the iPod can--sometimes while ALL the Samsung devices detect each other AND the iDevices. so unless you can post a video of your own proving that it does work then dont come here crying and posting fanboy nonsense.
