  • iOS Gets Verizon's Viewdini Video Streaming Service

Verizon Wireless recently announced Viewdini for the iOS platform today. Viewdini allows iOS users to utilize a simple and easy to use interface and watch video-on-demand while on the go. This app provides access to both free and subscription-based providers such as Comcast Xfinity, Hulu Plus, mSpot, Netflix, Vimeo, and many more. The app seems to be great for those who have access to multiple services as it aggregates all the video into one convenient app.

For those of you who didn’t already know, Viewdini was previously an Android-only service which has finally made its way to the App Store this week. The description reads the following:

Introducing viewdini™ – an innovative FREE video discovery application that creates a new entertainment choice by making it simple to search, browse, and access movies, TV shows, and free web video on mobile devices. Missed your favorite TV show? Need to entertain the kids while traveling? Want to watch a movie, but somebody already beat you to the TV? Looking for that missing episode from your content provider? No worries – viewdini™ takes the guesswork out of what content is available across services. It’s easy to use. Simply type in the title of the movie or an actor’s name and search for what you want or browse through thousands to titles from providers like Crackle, Hulu Plus, Netflix and Verizon FiOS and many others. You will know immediately if the content is available for free, by subscription, to rent, or for purchase. Viewdini™ is the next generation guide making it easy to what’s on mobile video.
The app promises to be easy to use by allowing users to search for the movie or show you want to watch or even allowing you to search by the name of the actor/actresses. In turn, the app goes through the list of content providers to find what you are looking for. At this point, Viewdini will tell you what’s available for free, by subscription, to rent, or to purchase. The best part about the app is its price tag, as it has none! The app is free and can be found in the App Store.

If you subscribe to the providers this may be a good app. It's kind of like having a handheld Roku-type device. The AppStore description does not mention anything about Comcast.
