  • Significant Theft Reported at Steve Jobs' Home

The estate that late Apple chief and tech visionary Steve Jobs called home has been burglarized.

The residence, which is located in Palo Alto, California, was burglarized on July 17. That's according to the official word from Santa Clara County Deputy District Attorney Tom Flattery.

On Tuesday, the San Jose Mercury News was first to report the break-in, a burglary that is being called random and not specifically targeted at the Steve Jobs estate. More than $60,000 worth of "computers and personal items" were reportedly taken.

"The best we can tell is it was totally random," Flattery revealed, adding that a 35-year old Alameda man named Kariem McFarlin was arrested as a suspect August 2nd in connection to the robbery.

What's sad is that there's likely a large group of people that are actually happy this happened because they like a different type of phone or tablet.

Wow. Burglarize Steve Job's house, didn't know people had the guts to do such a thing. You'd think they would have some security there...

They actually mean the same thing, I just prefer to say burglarize.

So you could use either one, doesn't matter.

You would think they would have Find My Mac and find my iPhone installed on their stuff.

Plot twist: they actually use Nokia's.

Wow that's really sad honestly. And what's worse is there are tons of people who will pay big bucks for the stolen sentimental items.

Actually he got away with the iPhone 8 which will destroy all phones in existence today. Unfortunately it was not scheduled to be released until the fall of 2018. This gives other companies time to innovate what apple clearly innovated already so that apple can sue them for stealing their ideas...

This case won't make any sense until it's in a patent trial court years from now. Kariem McFarlin was a saumsung spy. LOL!

Wouldn't it be comical if they tracked the thief through one of the stolen Apple products.

His bio talks about how he lives in a non discrete house & generally doesn't even lock his doors. I wonder if the burglar read his biography

The stories I read pointed out that it seemed to be a random pick and the suspect may have not known it was Steve Job's house. It is/was under construction at the time too.
