  • WordPress iOS App Update Brings UI Refresh and New Features

Wordpress updated their iOS app with a major UI overhaul, and some useful new features bloggers on the go will appreciate.

The UI features a new sidebar menu for quicker navigation between posts, pages, comments, stats and other functions, not to mention sliding panels on the iPad for an even more seamless experience. The updated UIís new color scheme isnít drop dead gorgeous, but it is functional and allows bloggers to focus on blogging instead of how beautiful the interface is.

Support for post formats and the new WordPress.com stats are two extremely welcome additions to the mobile footprint. No longer will bloggers need to log into the full WP site to view a bevy of site statistic. A huge, but simple update, is the inclusion of landscape orientation support throughout the app. This creates more space, especially on the iPad, which can be invaluable when working on mobile devices.

A full list of the new features is listed below. The WordPress app is available in the app store as a free download.
