    Repair shop iLab released some interesting photos of an iPhone 5 mockup they assembled from alleged iPhone 5 parts floating around for months now.

    The final assembled product might provide the most accurate leak/mockup the outside world gets before the iPhone 5 is actually announced. The build includes leaked backplates, camera sensor, front plate, smaller dock connector, and other various components.

    The iLab mockup includes all the changes part leaks and rumors have been pointing to all year including the 19-pin connector, matte two-tone finish, 16:9 screen, altered front camera placement, and the new speaker/microphone design.



    Another leak of a supposed iPhone 5 surfaced earlier this week with its originators claiming the device was smuggled out of Foxconn’s factories. However, the photos were extremely sub par and the phone appeared to be in a case. These high-quality images from iLab provide the most complete picture of the upcoming iPhone 5 thus far, and hopefully is indicative of Apple’s final design.

    But, this is still unsubstantiated speculation, albeit very creative unsubstantiated speculation.

      This is hilarious to read/watch.

      "Apple won't got two toned... This isn't slick... Blah blah blah..."

      I remember when the 3G came out, removing the two-toned aluminum back of the original iPhone & I remember the outcry of those who "hated" the plastic back. I still have my launch day 3GS because I thought & still think having glass on the front & back of a Smartphone is idiotic. Let's take something that is already fragile & make it doubly so.

      "This sucks... If this is the new iPhone, I'll just get a 4S on clearance... Blah blah blah..."

      Honestly this is a better designed phone. The back seems to take design cues from the original iPhone & the iPhone 4 & fuses them together. It's all personal preference & I like it. Mainly for having an aluminum back! Again, design is all preference, but I bet many of the people complaining about the 2 tone back of this phone were praising the design of the original iPhone.

      "Dock connector will change... That's dumb... I want new technology, but at the same time I apparently don't..."

      Seriously, as long as there is an adapter this should bother no one. We all know how important space is to Apple & if they can shrink the dock connector & move the headphone jack, why not? Personally, I don't like the idea of moving the headphone jack, but I can understand it. If Apple wants to cut manufacturing costs, having a universal body design for the iPhone & iPod Touch makes a LOT of sense.

      Then again, based on the rumors of an iPod Touch refresh, could it be that we're seeing the Touch refresh & not the iPhone? While they may have the same body & same new dock connector, perhaps the jack is still on top when it comes to the phone? I'm just throwing that out there.

      In the end, as much as I love this information, I remember reading the live blogs of the keynote last year. We were all sure we were getting a bigger screen & a full redesign & what happened? The 4S hit with a resounding thud... Well a thud on each blog post, but when it came to sales, it sold through like crazy. With a launch day 3GS, I can't wait to upgrade this year & if this is the phone w/LTE, sign me up for the 64GB version today.

      Is it just me, or is anyone else dreading the screen becoming a bigger size? I think that would hurt the user experience if someone had small fingers that couldn't reach if they only had one hand available at the time. And it would make developers make their app completely different. ALSO, I don't think Apple would ever make the back like that. If was like the original iPhone, I could understand. But that was for the antennae.

      I guess I'm a 'fanboy!'. Even if it looks like this, I'm still gonna get it. I can't imagine buying a Fandroid device for the simple fact that it'll be obsolete within a year...At least I can count on an iPhone being good for at least 2-3yrs.

      As for the ip4/4S being at the bottom...well, if that's the case then how come every cell carrier that's added the iPhone to their portfolio has seen a substantially large increase in profits??? I doubt it was cuz of Android's phenomenal products! So, get off your Fandroid 'high-horse;' oh, and get off this website!!! LOL!

      I'm just gonna say hope it's thinner, faster, 4" screen no bigger, 4G, the looks is not that great but all my previous iPhone's have always been in cases since day one so I'm eh about it.

      The speaker is on the bottom, like it always has been. This is clear in both photos.

      All GSM iPhones have a SIM tray. On the 3GS it is on the top of the phone. On the 4 & 4S it is on the side of the phone, similar to these leaked pictures.

      Not sure what you're seeing...

      Believe me Apple is really good in tackling the rumors people has about its product and I hope they will bring something completely different from this one. The leaked parts are "rumored" to be of the iphone 5, but there is no confirmation of it at all yet, so lets hope the new model is better than what is leaked!

      I'm laughing my butt off at all of you vag's crying about this phone!!!!! I love the design and can't wait to come back here, look up the majority of your user names and see how you're raving about the iPhone 5 when it's released!

      For those of you calling it a stretched 4s/ same design/ only moving the headphone jack you're idiots. This only looks similar to a 4 from the sides. EVERY aspect visually is different. For those of you whining about all your cables and docks, get over it. 30 pin takes up a LOT of internal space (most of you crying if "it's not broke" have probably never seen how large it actually is) which gives less space for battery, ram ect ect. I can't wait to order 3 of these bad boys on pre-order and start using it the day it shows up at my door. Hopefully a JB will come out soon after release.

      I think its because it shows people dont know what they are talking about when it comes to iPhones.

      Remember how annoying it was when the ignorants were calling the iPhone 4 the iPhone 4G and thought it was 4G capable?

      I respect your opinion but disagree that the 3GS was the best iPhone. It was definitely good but the 4S is by far the best. Runs like a champ even jailbroken and tweak and modded. Love my 4S.

      With that being said, I recently purchased the nemesis of the iPhone, the Galaxy S3. I have to honestly say that the S3 and Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) is a really great combo. I tried Android way back when Froyo was current and had nothing but issues.

      Been using my S3 for the past 2 weeks and really enjoying it although I will never get rid of my 4S and may even get the iPhone 6th gen.

      That was an advertising marketing scheme by Apple. iPhone 4G meaning 4th Generation. The same time the 4G nextwork was being finalized. Tricking consumers into thinking what you just said.

      funny how so many people says that its ugly, but yet be the first ones on line or pre-ordering the new iPhone5, because at the end of the day your going to buy it anyway, but yet that's just their opinion.. truthfully its not all that but what do you expect.. i like it cause it looks more durable, thinner and slightly larger screen then the current iPhone4/S.. just hope its lighter and can't wait to see the spec's on it!
