It appears that Best Buy's Web site has decreased the cost of the iPhone 4 from $99 with a two-year contract agreement to half of that – 49.99 with a two-year contract agreement, shipped. The iPhone 4 from Best Buy's Web site comes in both black and white with your choice of GSM or CDMA iPhone 4 models and carriers. It only comes in the limited 8GB storage, unfortunately.
AppleInsider points out that the price drop shows no indication of being temporary, so the sale shows signs of being a permanent price drop. For those that don't have a need for Siri, iOS 6's great new Maps features, an 8 megapixel camera, and dual core GPU and processor, the iPhone 4 can be a good investment at just a quarter of the price of the iPhone 4S.
The lowered price definitely shows a considerable reason to buy the iPhone 4 instead of the iPhone 3GS, which is also capable of supporting iOS 6 when the software update is finally released this fall. It doesn't really make much sense to buy the iPhone 3GS because of how outdated the technology is within that model, however it can be a tempting offer when the iPhone 3GS is free with the two-year contract on AT&T's network.
If you plan on getting an iPhone 4 for yourself or your family, you should check out Best Buy’s Web site before you shop elsewhere. On the other hand, if you are eagerly waiting for the next generation iPhone, we would recommend you avoid this deal.
