Report Claims Pegatron Has Started 6th Generation iPhone Production
Reports out of Asia suggest that Apple's next generation iPhone has already gone into production at Pegatron, one of the company's top manufacturing and production partners in the far east.
Consistent with other reports we've heard and covered in recent weeks, DigiTimes is standing by its claim that the next-gen iPhone is being aggressively pushed through the production and assembly lines of Pegatron's facilities. The devices in question are said to be coming out of the company's factory in Shanghai.
Sources in Taiwan concur that demand for the refreshed iPhone will be substantial and that Apple wants to avoid inventory shortages at all costs. As of this writing, however, it remains a rumor that production is also underway at Foxconn, Apple's largest manufacturing partner and the maker of most iPhones that come out of China.
No word yet on the iPad mini or if production has begun at either Pagatron or Foxconn. In fact, until we know for certain that such a device is coming, all talk of ongoing production within the blogosphere should be taken with a grain of salt.
