Laurene Powell Jobs Headed to Sun Valley Tech Conference
Earlier this week, MMi reported
that Apple CEO Tim Cook turned up in Sun Valley, Idaho for Allen & Co.'s annual tech retreat. Although this was Cook's first appearance at the retreat, late Apple chief Steve Jobs had attended the retreat on more than one occasion in the past.
And this year, so will his widow, Laurene Powell Jobs. According to published reports Friday, Mrs. Jobs will not only attend the conference, she may also begin the process of settling into a new home that she reportedly purchased in the Sun Valley area.
The New York Post reported that the house in question is located near Ketchum, Idaho and is small double A-frame home valued between $3 million and $4 million. For Mrs. Jobs, however, the purchase is a modest one. The widow of Steve Jobs is said to be Silicon Valley’s richest woman, worth approximately $9 billion.
Although it isn't likely that Mrs. Jobs has any commercial interests in the Allen & Co. retreat, Tim Cook's appearance was said to be highly motivated by business. As yours truly reported on Wednesday, rumor has it that Cook made the trip to Idaho as a means to connect with fellow industry heavyweights in anticipation of striking content deals before the hotly anticipated iTV is launched at some point in the near future.
