Add A Tab Key to the Notes Application With 'NotesTab'
All good computers have a tab key on the keyboard, but the iPhone doesn’t. A new free jailbreak tweak comes to the rescue, dubbed NotesTab
by iOS developer Fire30, to bring you a tab key to the Notes application – the most likely place you will ever need to use the tab key in iOS.
As shown above, the tab key is placed on the keyboard, in a separate extension. It would have looked better if it were integrated into the iOS keyboard the same way the microphone key is for Siri dictation. Unfortunately, that top bar being added to the keyboard also reduces the amount of your note's pixels you can see as you’re typing since it closes up part of the window between the top of the keyboard and the status bar. If you can put up with this small compromise, it might be worth downloading!
The tab key will create five spaces every time you press it – unlike on a computer when you tab and then backspace the tab with one keystroke, iOS will require you to backspace five times, one time for each space to, to undo the tab. It’s great for separating information in the notes that you take. It can be great for separating prices from your grocery list, or for typing markers beside important class notes. Depending on how you use your Notes application on your iOS device, NotesTab can probably be useful for you in your own way.
NotesTab only puts the tab button on the keyboard from the Notes application, so don’t expect to see it in applications like Pages, Safari, or Mail. For a free tweak, this is a pretty cool little mod. It has no options to configure and it is an open source jailbreak tweak – you can view its source code on Github
