  • Amazing High-Resolution, 3-D Mockup Rendering of iPhone 5

The iPhone 5 is one of the most sought-after devices in the world. Starting in 2011, rumors started pounding the Internet about purported four-inch displays, 4G LTE technology, thinner case design, and much more. Apple unfortunately released the iPhone 4S instead, but the iPhone 5 would have to be the next iPhone if Apple’s naming process is to remain set in stone.

This year, a handful of supposed iPhone 5 parts have been leaked to the public. Bryce Haymond from Blackpool Creative took these parts and pieced them together along with some other rumors to create a high-resolution iPhone 5 mockup. You can view the mockup in the YouTube video attached below:

The mockup features the four-inch display, new thinner metal-back case, and 4G indicator. Other minor changes include the FaceTime camera being centered across the top of the iPhone with the speaker instead of inline with it, lower positioning of the volume buttons and mute switch, and the microphone being in between the rear-facing camera and camera flash.

As far as software goes, the mockup basically takes the look of iOS as it is now. The iPhone 5 will more than likely be running iOS 6, which isn’t expected to look too much different from iOS 5 because of the fact that iOS has never dramatically changed since its first appearance on the original iPhone.

Taking a look at the mockup in a critiquing fashion, it isn’t likely that the microphone will be placed on the back of the iPhone. Apple seems to keep all rugged hardware on the edges of the phone to help keep the front and back faces of the device looking as sleek and shiny as possible. This means no little holes. Additionally, it isn’t likely that the FaceTime camera will be centered across the face of the iPhone above the speaker. Looking at previous iPhone models, Apple seems to like having the camera inline with the speaker. Another thing we aren’t so sure about is the status bar saying “4G.” If Apple does go with 4G LTE technology in the iPhone 5, then they will likely follow the design of the new iPad and have the status bar read, “LTE” instead of 4G.

The rendering is nothing but a mockup, however it pieces together some potentially leaked iPhone 5 parts and a little bit of common sense to form a possible outcome. If the iPhone 5 did end up looking something like this, would you want one?

im going to rolflmfao when the iphone 5 looks way different than what modmyi has been posting for the last two weeks. we all know that apple would never change their dock connector. and i think we all saw the same thing with the 4s. the day it came out everyone who was posting the "the new 5" was smacked right in the face when they saw it was called 4s and it didnt have what they where expecting.

Does anyone have a problem with the design as it is? Has the MacBook pro ever really had major changes in the last 3 years? Why isn't anyone complaining about the MacBook?

Shut the **** up and stop ********, unless you have improvements to recommend

I love my 4S. The new iPhone better be drastically different, or I see no reason to upgrade.

The ones complaining that it "might" look like the current phone and thats enough to make them go to Android are the kind of people who just want everyone to see them with it and know they have the newest phone. Typical "center of the universe" syndrome.

WTF i thought apple was suppose to redesign the iphone every 2 years like going for a iphone 3g to iphone 4 with the exception of the first iphone to the iphone 3g. The iphone 3gs and iphone 4s looked exactly the same as the previous years just faster with a better camera. i care about inside and out not just what the iphone has inside thats why i skipped the iphone 4s cause i already had an iphone 4. No one can tell if u have the latest if it looks exactly the same. I guess now i have to wait every 3 years for a redesign . Just adding a bigger screen better insides and a better camera but with the same block shape isnt going to cut it for me.

I don't like losing 15% of the face to a single button. If they insist on keeping a home button I'd rather it be on the edge with everything else.

It'll be the same tech trend as any other product. The iPhone already has high specs in CPU, camera, screen resolution etc. that will only increase in small steps. (RAM, Quad core maybe.....)

So in the future it'll be thinner because components are always becoming more integrated or compressed if you will, with the screen getting larger as they eliminate the dead space in the iPhones face. I don't see Apple ever making the actual iPhone case larger, ever. Also the general design and glass materials might stay the same as well. It's a brilliant design. Nothing else feels as good in my hand. The hell with that chunk of plastic toy phone feel. I love the aluminum / glass combo.

Thank you. The hard home button is in my opinion necessary to a lot of things. And just down right convenient. I just recently switched over to a Nokia Lumia 900 and the virtual home button can be a bit of a hassle every now and again. Accidentally hitting and not being able to wake the phone up using it. Not to mention, It's just an iPhone thing.

I can't wait! I just want the iPhone 5 to be faster, thinner, and a MUCH larger screen and I'll be happy!
