Apple Television to Be Introduced 'Months' Before Sales Begin
While still unconfirmed by Apple, you would be hard-pressed to find an industry analyst or supply chain source that doesn't believe that Apple will soon unveil an iOS-powered connected HDTV that will dramatically change the living room as we know it.
That said, much debate persists regarding the alleged release timeframe of this so-called "iTV." Although most insiders project a late 2012 or early 2013 launch window, new reports suggest that Apple may publicly confirm and tease the forthcoming iTV launch months before the product is available for purchase to consumers.
Brian White of Topeka Capital Markets told investors Tuesday that Apple will likely follow its established course when the first iPhone and iPad were revealed. Both products were displayed publicly months before they became available to the masses. The iTV will also likely have a protracted walk down the red carpet before the flatscreens finally debut in our homes and places of work.
With that being said, speculation is rampant that the iTV may officially be unveiled at WWDC next month - although that is purely speculative with little credible evidence to suggest such a reality transpiring so soon.
As MMi reported
earlier today, the Apple HDTV is believed to be undergoing "trial production" at Foxconn as we speak.
