[Review] TwitkaFly Facebook Plugin - Facebook Integration With TwitkaFly
is an amazing Tweet-from-anywhere tweak by iOS developer Moeseth
. You simply invoke an Activator action and then you’re suddenly got an interface at your fingertips for a quick-Tweet. However, since iOS 5 has a function like this already, it was widely requested that Moeseth add Facebook functionality to TwitkaFly. With a new plugin for TwitkaFly that Moeseth has just released, dubbed TwitkaFly Facebook Plugin
, you can now post status updates on Facebook with TwitkaFly.
As illustrated by the screenshot above, a new Facebook button allows you to post directly to Facebook. After you install the Facebook plugin from Cydia, you can go into the preferences pane for TwitkaFly and sign into Facebook to use the feature. Your information will be secure. After you post a status, you can check back on Facebook and see your status update. It will say you posted the update from iOS.
To install the Facebook plugin from Cydia, you must first purchase TwitkaFly. The Facebook plugin will cost you 99˘ separately. Without the Facebook plugin for TwitkaFly installed, the Facebook button will not be present and TwitkaFly will display your Twitter handle at the top of the window and only be capable of Tweeting. Unfortunately, the Facebook plugin does not have quick reply functionality the same way TwitkaFly has with Twitter.
The interface for the quick status on Facebook is the same was TwitkaFly looks for Tweeting on Twitter, so it has the familiar interface that TwitkaFly users are used to using. The good news is that the Facebook plugin is compatible with any iOS version 4 or higher and it works on the iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad. If you've been looking for a way to get status updates to Facebook faster without having to open the buggy Facebook application, then be sure to give this plugin a try and see if it meets your standards!
