Where can you get a brand spankin' new iPhone 4S at a $74 discount? Try Walmart... at least, the Walmart in Edmond, Oklahoma. That's where the 16-gigabyte AT&T iPhone 4S is now selling for just $114 (with a new 2-year AT&T contract).
For now, to the best of our knowledge, this deal is available at just one other Walmart - the one in Austin, Texas. And it isn't available through Walmart's website either. So is this just a very local, two-store only promotion? Or might this move foreshadow a national discount opportunity unlike anything the iPhone 4S has seen to date?
As we all know, Walmart isn't the biggest player in the realm of iPhone sales, but the retailer remains a significant strategic business partner with Apple. And if the bricks-and-mortar giant rolls out a national campaign that delivers a $114 iPhone 4S, you can expect a massive influx of sales, especially since the iPhone 4 is now selling (and selling well) for just $99 or less in comparison.
