  • Eleven-Year-Old Boy Urinates On $36k Worth of MacBook Computers

"Well, there goes $36,000 worth of good computers," as Upper Allen Elementary School staff must have been thinking to themselves after an eleven-year-old boy dropped his pants and urinated all over a computer cart full of 36 MacBook computers on Wednesday. All 36 MacBook computers were damaged in the incident.

Iím not sure what it would have taken to get a child to think it was a good idea to treat a cart of computers like a urinal, however peer pressure or feeling the need for revenge may have played a huge part of it. We know that childrenís minds are not yet fully developed to completely understand the gravity of destroying $36,000 worth of computers, but it simply makes sense even to a somewhat normal eleven-year-old child that urinating should be saved for the bathroom.

According to the police that populated this event, the MacBook computers were damaged beyond repair. Apple does not cover water damage in their AppleCare warranties, let alone something of this caliber. The child was later charged with criminal mischief and is being turned over to the Cumberland County Juvenile Probation Department by police.

I could never fathom the look on the faces of the police when they received the call saying an Elementary schoolís computers have been destroyed and defiled by such a mindless act. While the replacement process will be an expensive one for the school, it was probably even worse for the poor staff that had to clean up the mess. One could only feel their remorse and feel sorry for them.

There is an old saying: "When you gotta go, you gotta go."

How on earth can an 11 yr old urinate enough to "Completely Destroy" 36 computers, I'm thinking the lids would have been closed to get 36 computers on a cart? i can see come of them getting pretty wet but others barely getting a splash., must be nice to provide MacBooks to your elementary school.

They should of went out and bought some nice PC's and took the extra money to hire someone at about $40k+ to reimage them a few times a month. That's how I save money I got out buy something cheap and then I throw more money at it to get it working like something more expensive. It only makes perfect sense.... ....

It would generate a lot of goodwill for Apple, which they could probably use right now between the Malware items popping up everywhere and the Greenpeace protests.

That being said, this kid was just plain dumb and I hope they lock him away for a very long time and possibly the parents as well, after all, they are responsible for educating their children about what is right and wrong.
WHOA! The PARENTS too? You don't have children do you? Kids do dumb things regardless of how well they are raised. I have one child who is a complete angel and one who has horns. I raised them both on my own. They both had my love and the benefit of being taught values. Sorry, but that was a really horrid thing to say!

Im sorry but that's why kids have no respect these days. 11 years old is old enough to make a decision to pull his **** out and purposely piss on school equipment that other children were going to use . But he isn't old enough to get punished? Obviously his parents aren't doing the job, so let the police do something or at least try a scared straight program. Kids have no fear of consequences to poor actions anymore.

Yes I have children and no I don't put my children in the corner, count to 10, and other dumb methods of displine. If my 11yr old pissed on 36 computer she is staying a few nights in Juvenile and I wouldn't be surprised if I got fined because until

Do you have any idea what some kids endure at school, day in and day out?
I'm talking about bullying. When I was a kid, I was bullied a lot, and had a lot of pressure from fellow students.
If bullying and peer pressure is strong enough, I imagine I could have come up with the same idea as this kid, when I was 10.
He was probably feeling down and frustrated about something, and those computers just happened to be there, unsupervised.
That's just how a kids mind works, and that doesn't mean there's anything wrong with him, or that he consciously meant to harm anyone.

The school should know how handle these things, and it's their own fault, if they didn't prevent this, or at least had insurance for this kind of thing.
Now it's up to the parents to deal with it, and some of the school staff should talk to the kid and his parents, and find out what caused him to act like this, so they can prevent it from happening again.
Blaming a child for a monetary loss, or beating him is definitely not the answer.

The laptops are probably considered biohazard since it was pee on them. And this excuse about some psychological, not full developed normal brain business? The kid is 11 years-old. That means they're in 6th Grade. At that age I sure as **** knew the difference where to take a piss…and that would be NOT be in a classroom.

Even tho yours is a bit of a blanket statement in the other direction, I mostly agree.

I do think we should have a few more details, tho. I'd like to know more about how irresponsible the school was, and issues surrounding the kid and family. If the kid has 'issues', the parents still need to be held responsible to some degree (I hate this whole, 'the kid has a disability, the parents are held harmless' thing): we do live in a democracy with shared responsibility and that doesn't mean we need to foot the lion's share of the bill for your disabled kid. Thought, complex issue, but we need more info (which we may never see) before we rush to judgement either way.

why would you water damage them more? but what i don't understand is that how could his piss get into ALL of the MacBooks? not everyone can piss for a certain amount of time to "drench" and damage the macs. especially cause it was a kid

Distilled water will just clean it out as long as the battery as out. It's not like urine is even disease ridden, it's sterile!

Really?? Lock a child away for a long time?? That will really help him out. Maybe when he gets out after a long time he will truly be a harden criminal. And blaming the parents, that is just asinine. Grow up and learn abit more about society. Because after all, it's the parents fault what the kid does when it is something wrong or right. You can teach a child anything but it is the child's ultimate decision what THE CHILD does.

I can't buy all of what is posted. What was the kid thinking? On the other hand why in the world is that many Macs left out for the kids to get ahold of? As far as destroying them all, I think that's for a bs insurance claim (if schools have that kind of insurance, I don't know). There's gotta be more to the story than this.

If you're speaking of the United States, then calling it a democracy is not correct, as it is a republic. Those are two different things that do overlap in some areas. Still, it's common error people make.
