Here are the best jailbreak creations for the week of April 16th until today, April 22th as per the opinion of our staff. This is a recap.
1. Forecast - 99˘
is a new jailbreak tweak by iOS developer Stimpy5050
. Forecast allows you to replace your lock screen lock dash with a hybrid clock and weather dash. The dash features the date and time on the left side, and displays all of its weather information in the middle and on the right side of the dash. It uses your location to display your weather information. It includes a manual refresh button for refreshing the weather yourself even though the widget automatically refreshes the weather every 15 minutes to give you an accurate reading. Apart from the useful functionality, the dash looks very nice on the lock screen.
2. Swipebright - 99˘
is a new jailbreak tweak by iOS developer IanP
. Swipebright is a utility allowing you to adjust your display brightness easily by simply swiping left on your status bar to decrease the brightness or swiping right on the status bar to increase the brightness. This method is much faster than opening a toggle interface to adjust the screen brightness. It uses Activator to perform this action, so if you have SBSettings installed with its default activation method, you may want to change the SBSettings Activator action. You can adjust the sensitivity of the status bar to make this tweak work the best for your needs.
3. FastLock - 99˘
is a new jailbreak tweak by iOS developer Pigi Galdi
. FastLock aims to make the lock screen more intuitive by placing common iOS function shortcuts on the lock screen. The appearance of the list of shortcuts is simply eye candy to the user and it functions great. Some of the useful functions include shortcuts for sending text messages, placing phone calls, sending e-mails, Tweeting, and adding contacts. All of these things can be done by unlocking our iOS device and tapping on the appropriate applications, however it’s always quicker to have shortcuts and it improves the overall user experience of the iPhone.
4. SwipeDock - 99˘
is a new jailbreak tweak y iOS developer Cykey
. SwipeDock allows the user to hide and show the iOS dock on demand by simply using swipe gestures or Activator actions – whichever one you prefer. It comes with options for filling the empty home screen space with an extra row of applications when the dock is hidden. SwipeDock is great for keeping certain applications hidden from your kids, such as obvious things like banking applications. SwipeDock comes with tons of animation options for watching your dock disappear and reappear on your home screen.
5. Software Update Killer - FREE
Software Update Killer
is a free jailbreak tweak by iOS developer Lunatik. It works by allowing you to block all aspects of the iOS over the air (OTA) software-updating feature. While the feature is wonderful for non-jailbroken devices, jailbreakers want to stay away from these mousetraps Apple is implementing to keep us away from jailbreaking. Software Update Killer does three things: 1. Disable the download and install feature from the Software Update preferences pane in the Settings application; 2. Suppress all Settings application badges; 3. Suppress all internal badges appearing from within the Settings application. If you’re tired of being bugged by software updates, you want this. It also prevents accidental hands from being able to tap on that 'download and install' button.
