United Continental Executive to Become Apple's Vice President of Sales
Zane Rowe, the former United Continental Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, will be joining Apple and reportedly be one of the Cupertino, California company’s vice presidents of sales.
It was announced that Rowe will be leaving his position as the executive vice president and CFO of United Continental Holdings Inc, where he worked since the two carriers merged in 2010 according to a report by All Things D
. Rowe first joined Continental in 1993 as a vice president of financial planning and analysis, where he ultimately became the company’s executive vice president and CFO in 2008.
Apple spokesman Steve Dowling said “We are thrilled that Zane Rowe will be joining us as one of our vice presidents of sales. He built a great team at United and we think he is going to do a fantastic job at Apple.”
As of right now, it hasn’t been made clear what segment Rowe will be heading at the start of his term. Perhaps he will be taking over some of the responsibilities that Peter Oppenheimer was managing as interim retail chief
but we aren't certain as of yet.
