  • Tim Cook to Open 10th Annual All Things Digital Conference

This year at the historic tenth annual "D: All Things Digital" conference, Apple CEO Tim Cook will kick off the festivities as the event's opening speaker. The conference gets underway May 29th at the Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes, California. As always, the event is well attended and usually among the more high-profile conferences of its nature.

According to Kara Swisher, the occasion marks Cook’s first appearance at D as well as his first non-Apple related media event in the capacity of CEO. Steve Jobs last appearance at the conference came in 2010.

"We are looking forward to hearing Cook’s perspective on where the industry and Apple is going, and perhaps to get a glimpse into what makes its new leader — who is also a longtime Apple vet — tick," Swisher said Tuesday.

Although more speakers will be announced in the coming days, Cook joins an already prominent D10 speaker list, which includes New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg, Oracle CEO Larry Ellison and Federal Trade Commission Chairman Jon Leibowitz.

For more info about the event, check out Swisher's comments published here.

This is a good and special chunk of time for Apple. They get the remaining couple years of Steve Jobs' product ideas and company plans combined with the business approach of Tim Cook. I think now until about 2015 will be Apple's best years in the history books.
