Apple Taps Symantec Executive For Top Tax Man
If you haven't yet noticed, Apple is very good at procuring top talent from other companies. Another example of this reality emerged this week, as news broke that Apple has acquired the professional services of a former executive at Symantec.
Phillip Bullock's new job title will be that of senior vice president and chief accounting officer at Apple. That's quite a position, and one for which Bullock will likely be handsomely compensated. After all, he is running Apple's tax department.
Bullock's transition to Apple became apparent through a filing Tuesday with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission by Symantec: "(Bullock) announced he will be leaving the Company to lead the tax department at Apple, Inc., and not due to any disagreement with the Company on any matters relating to the Company's operations, policies or practices."
According to the document in question, Bullock's replacement at Symantec will be installed April 30th, which suggests that the transition between companies for Bullock was decided very recently.
