Although Apple's retail presence in the Chicagoland area is already well established, the Midwest will welcome a brand spankin' new MacMall this weekend in the Windy City.
As MMi reported in December, MacMall - Apple's authorized reseller - continues to expand its retail footprint even as Apple's growing retail presence seems to remove the need for MacMall to do so. In late 2011, however, MacMall opened its third California based store. And this weekend, Chicago joins the MacMall family.
"On Saturday, MacMall... will expand its retail footprint with the grand opening of its third California based store," writes Julie Wernau of the Chicago Tribune. Similar to the store's California outlets, the new Chi-Town MacMall will offer Mac and PC products, free seminars and on-site repair.
But this weekend, it will also offer something more - much more.
MacMall said the first 500 people to visit the store will be entered to win 20 gadgets, including the MacBook Air. Other drawings to be held throughout the day include a Wacom Intuos5 tablet, five apple TVs, two iPod touch players, three iPod nanos.
If you're unfamiliar, MacMall has been around since 1995 and remains a subsidiary of PC Mall, a publicly traded company that saw $1.5 billion in revenue in 2011, according to the Chicago Tribune's report.
