    Legal trouble and Apple tend to go hand-in-hand lately, but the latest lawsuit against the company doesn’t involve IP litigation. It involves an 83-year old woman and a glass door.

    According to the lawsuit Evelyn Paswall is suing Apple after walking into the glass doors at the Apple Store Manhasset on Long Island. According to the CBS New York report Paswall is asking for $75,000 in medical expenses plus $1 million in punitive damages for negligence.

    “Paswall claims that she didn’t realize that she was walking into a wall of glass as she approached the store, and says that she broke her nose as a result of the collision.

    Her suit claims that “the defendant was negligent ... in allowing a clear, see-through glass wall and/or door to exist without proper warning.” — CBS New York
    Apple’s floor-to-ceiling glass walls and front doors are a staple of the modern Apple retail store. Last year, Apple even had white stickers installed on the transparent glass of all Apple Stores to help prevent collisions such as this. The plaintiff’s lawyer claims the markings are insufficient and his “client is an octogenarian (80+ years old). She sees well, but she did not see any glass.”

    How many times have people accidentally walked face first into a screen door? Imagine doing that into glass. The potential for damage is there. While I do feel bad for this elderly woman, all I can think about is this video (be careful video may be NSFW).

      If she can't even see a glass door front of her, she needs a glasses for her old eyes not a Mac Products. She didn't "realize"? So it's her fault. I hate greedy people and I damn greedy old people.

      And when I read the headline I had 1 thought "Only in America" as no other country sues for stupid things like that.

      Also i'm not proud they claimed, not sued I was wrong, claimed, because for the last time I pushed the door when I was running and it did not open fully, meaning I hit it with my face at full blast, never once said it wasn't my fault but they did admit liability instantly, so take it up with the insurance company, not me, douchebags
      My nine-year-old daughter and I approached a door once and it didn't open as expected. Funny thing was, neither of us broke our noses. I asked her after reading this if she has run into a closed door and she said that she stops before she tries to open the door. I asked what would happen if she didn't stop before she tried to open the door. She said she would probably hit the door and get hurt. She goes to an American public school. You can draw your own conclusions.

      best thing I've read this morning. Same thing happened to my 2 year-old daughter. Her nose wasn't broken but she did cry a lot.

      Damn if she's wins that will be a nice chunk of change to spend. Seriously though people can sue anyone for anything now a days. It is just a matter of winning.

      Actually it only takes around 5 lbs of pressure to break a person's nose.

      Since when does it cost $75,000 for resetting a broken nose? Did she have a nose job while she was in there? When I went to the hospital for an emergency, was admitted for a week and had surgery, it was about 75 grand. And the punitive damages is laughable, she more than likely doesn't work, so no lost wages, and she probably isn't a famous actress that makes her money off her looks.. I don't see any validity to this case.

      Now if she was sueing for a maybe 3k in medical expenses, I don't see a problem with it.

      This is apple glass door and this is very great and best company in the world so i think they have no need to show their any other mono on the main door only apple but if any body have it's other store then he must be display his shop related display in front of his shop so the peoples are come to your shop and purchase your products...
