  • Korean Times Reporting Apple Set to Purchase 7.85" Displays From Samsung

The new iPad isn’t even out yet and rumors regarding a 7.85” model iPad are already flaring back up.

The Korean Times published claims by an unnamed Samsung source that Apple is expected to purchase $11 billion in components from Samsung by the end of 2012. This is up from the $9.7 billion outlined in the current contract between the two companies. The source claims a portion of that $11 billion is going toward 7.85” displays.

“Apple is planning to release a smaller iPad, probably with a 7.85-inch screen, and to sell more of its MacBook Air PCs using Samsung’s faster solid state drive storage,” unnamed executive-level source.
The source claims that Samsung is looking to be the first company to supply Apple with OLED displays for use in iDevices.

"Apple has the intent to use Samsung’s OLED technology, however, Apple doubts the output commitment for OLED screens by Samsung,” unnamed executive-level source.
If Apple has half the year anonymous sources within the companies littering their supply chain claim they will have in 2012, Apple products could replace everything in your home. Even your family.

Wouldn't believe any korean media reports, they tend to report unconfirmed information all the time.

While I don't blame the MMi writers, I wish people would stop fabricating the same rumors every month.

I feel the same way, even more so when the stories originate from the New York Times, Bloomberg, and The WSJ.

How is making a statement that Korean media reports tend to be unconfirmed and that they will report anything racist? They didn't say that the reports were bad because they are Korean, they said they are bad because they are unconfirmed.
