Skype 5.6 for Mac Released
If youíre a Mac user and you depend on Skype for conversations with your coworkers, friends, or for video calling, then youíll like to know about a new version (build 220.127.116.11), which was just released today. To get this update, you can either navigate to Skype>Check for Updates
from the Mac OS X Menu Bar, or you can download the update directly from this link
The update will bring some cool new features to Skype, which will help improve our daily life with it. The first big feature being Mac OS X Lion full screen support, which will allow you to fill the screen with the Skype window and using multi-touch gestures to swipe between your open windows. Another big new feature is automatic updating, which will make it so you donít have to check for updates anymore and updating will be done in the background while you use Skype.
Some of the smaller updates include a new and improved group video calling user interface, a fix for deleting your history of conversations (something that the application seemed to have an issue with for quite a while now), and the ability to disable Audio Gain Control. Apart from these updates, stability improvements and bug fixes have been added to make your Skyping as pleasant as possible.
Since Skype now supports automatic updating, we sure hope they donít release any terrible updates that force us to download and install new bothersome glitches. Automatic updates would be a cause for alarm for some people, but fortunately we have the ability to disable automatic updating from the Skype preferences. Get downloading!
