Apple Unveils New Flagship Retail Store in Amsterdam
Apple unveiled their new flagship retail store in Amsterdam located on the ground floor and mezzanine of the Hirsch building at the Leidseplein during a press event today.
The building will hold 300 employees capable of serving customers in 14 different languages, and it’s complete with the worlds largest Genius Bar, measuring 20 meters in length. The location will include EasyPay self-checkout capabilities for those buying accessories through the App Store, and even has a Briefing Room.
One More Thing photographer Rogier Visser captured a number of photos during the press event this morning and the results are impressive. The design is reminiscent of Apple’s Grand Central Station location, a perfect amalgamation of old and new. The juxtaposition of bleeding edge technology and historical artifice create what appears to be a surreal retail experience. Not to mention floor plan is freakin' massive, with row after row of MacBooks, iPads, iPhones, and other Apple paraphernalia.
The store will open up to the public Saturday morning at 10 a.m. and those residing in Amsterdam or within a quick train ride should definitely take a visit.
