IconRotator is a free jailbreak tweak on Ryan Petrich’s beta repository by (guess who?) iOS hacker and developer Ryan Petrich. It’s a well-made and fun jailbreak tweak that lets your icons rotate with your iDevice’s orientation in space using the device's built-in accelerometer; the icons rotate rapidly and pleasantly and the best part is: it works in all four orientations, which are illustrated above.
IconRotator is very unpretentious with little to say about it, but it serves a simple purpose of making the application icons and their names easier to read when you are holding the device abnormally. If you have Graviboard installed, IconRotator sometimes will not play nicely with it, as when you attempt to invoke Graviboard and then rotate the device to make your icons flow with gravity, IconRotator can reset the icon layout back to its original state and do its thing of rotating the icons.
Not only does IconRotator work with the application icons that are free-floating on your home screen, but it also works with application icons inside of your folders and it works with the application icons in your App Switcher. This means that its effects are uniform throughout and really gives it that Ryan Petrich-quality.
Most of us will probably only download IconRotator for entertainment purposes, but for the most part Ryan Petrich made IconRotator to be a lightweight alternative for SBRotator. If a tweak that reorients the home screen’s application icons to match the device's orientation is something you have always wanted, you can give IconRotator a try since it is free.
