  • Dexim P-Flip Solar Charger for your iPhone

    MMi Live @ MacWorld

Macworld Expo covers a wide range of products, but this year there seems to be quite a few exhibitors with products that help you keep your iOS devices up and running. Dexim wants to help you keep your iDevice fully charged wherever you choose to go. The P-Flip ($79.90) is a foldable solar power battery pack and dock for your iPhone that extends talk time up to 6 hours and gaming up to 10 hours.

The P-Flip features a 2000mAh Lithium Polymer battery that can be charged either by the sun or by plugging it in to an AC outlet. Your iPhone doesnít need to be in the unit while itís charging, simply leave the charger in the sun and it should be fully charged in about 15 hour of direct sunlight. It may take more that a day of sunlight to fully charge up the P-Flip, but if youíre stuck in the middle of nowhere, this device could be a real lifesaver.

Many Dexim battery backs feature a flip case design that allow you use the case as a stand. This lets you watch videos hands-free and they work in both portrait and landscape orientations as well. The P-Flip is compatible with the iPhone 3G, 3GS and iPhone 4 and are available now.

At least it is a step towards solar recharge. Now time to improve upon it.

Yes great if you have a car. But if you are walking or cycling this is a great product.

They're working on it... Maybe not this manufacturer specifically, but I know that a lot of solar-power advancements are coming, because it's become the next "Holy-Grail" for power providers (be it utility companies, or battery manufacturers.)

It is 15 hours to fully charged. So you could leave it on shortly and get some charge.

That's pretty ugly. Great idea, but they need to bring the sexy back.
