While social networking can be a very large part of our lives these days, they can be very equally frustrating. If you post something on Twitter, it doesn’t go to Facebook. If you post something on Facebook, it doesn’t go to Instagram. It you post something to Tumblr, it doesn’t go to some other social networking site. Granted, Twitter and some other social networking places have settings to post to some other sites, wouldn’t it be great if you could use one application to post to all of your social networking sites at once?
A new free App Store application dubbed What’s Going Down? will let you do that. Pictured above, is the application – it's attractive in appearance; it has some qualities of Tweetbot with that sleek dark gray appearance and the blue colors blended into it. The application has a few different themes that you can pick from, but I find the default one shown above is the nicest looking of them all. There is also a theme that appears similarly to the Apple Notes application and another theme with a cloudy/sky look to it.

What’s Going Down? supports Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Foursquare, and Instagram integration. While the average person might only have two or three of these social networks on their iDevice, this application does an outstanding job of connecting these social networks all in one place. Signing into all of those social networks from this application is simple, and it remembers your login information so you don’t have to sign in later on, which is a brilliant feature.
There are settings to regulate image quality for those of you who are data-watchers who try to never go over your data caps, there are URL shorteners, and there is a ‘now-playing’ feature that lets you share what music you are listening to on your iDevice. You can share photographs, videos, music information, location, and more. There is even an option to use the camera while you're typing so you can see what's ahead of you while you're walking and texting - pretty nifty!

The coolest feature is probably the built-in Instagram-like functionality that permits you to put frames and photograph filters over your photographs before you share them to all of your social networks. The interface is easy to use; simply swipe left and right and tap on the effects that you want to use.
While I personally appreciate using all of the different social networking applications on my iPhone, I think that the What’s Going Down? application might help some people manage their time better by helping them to kill two (or dare I say – five) birds with one stone and posting their lives to more than one social network with the tap of a button. The interface is also a pleasure to use. It's free so give it a shot and feel free to tell us what you think about it.
