When Notification Center dispatched with iOS 5, we liked how all of our notifications were all congealed in one place. There was no more of going into each application on our home screen to go through and clear out all of the badges we saw. Unfortunately, even Notification Center's way of terminating notifications has been deemed redundant – having to tap the 'X' button and then the 'clear' button for each individual application.
A new jailbreak tweak dubbed FastClear by iOS developer rud0lf77 helps us to eliminate that redundancy by permitting us to tap only the 'clear' button to remove the notifications for each application instead of having the two-step process of tapping 'X' and then 'clear.' As made evident by the screenshots above – FastClear is a one-step procedure for getting rid of notifications.
This kind of functionality comes with Filippo Bigarella’s $2.99 Springtomize 2 application for iOS 5, which is an extensive SpringBoard customization platform. The setting is called Instant Clear from the Notification Center settings and it will even get rid of any notification badges you clear from Notification Center where FastClear will not. Albeit Springtomize 2 is a great deal for its extensive settings, if you aren’t out to spend any money then FastClear will make a great free substitute for you and your Notification Center dismissal needs. Unfortunately, FastClear cannot be deactivated like the Springtomize 2 setting can be. The only way to disable the setting would be to remove the jailbreak tweak.
If you are the type of person to be clumsy, you may not like FastClear. Once you tap on the 'clear' button, the notification is gone. Apple’s two-step process is made in such a way to keep accidents from removing notifications by mistake. FastClear requires iOS 5 because it depends on Notification Center.
