, where an anonymous Apple employee mentioned that the iPad would have a “truly amazing screen.” Since then, there has been a multitude of leaks
pointing towards information regarding the next-generation iPad
Going back to the graphic, it conveys the screen resolutions relative to one another assuming that they all have the same DPI (dots per inch). As of right now, the iPad 3 screen is believed to be the same size as the iPad 2 but have twice the density of pixels. What that means is that the iPad 3 will have images which are much sharper compared to the previous models. This will result in all third party applications being forced to update to support the higher resolution display, which is what we saw when previous iOS devices had been released.
As for right now, you’ll have to stay tuned for more information as Apple is reportedly lining up demos
