Wall Street Journal Reports Verizon and AT&T Will Carry LTE iPad 3
The Wall Street Journal
is reporting Verizon and AT&T with carry LTE capable iPad 3s.
The WSJ doesn't cite “rumors” in their article like many reports circulating yesterday. The verbage used is very specific, but still does not cite concrete sources. Instead the WSJ resorts to the classic “people familiar with the matter” when attributing the source of their information.
Verizon Communications Inc. and AT&T Inc. will sell a version of the coming iPad that runs on their newest fourth-generation wireless networks, according to people familiar with the matter, as the battle to cash in on big investments in mobile broadband heats up.
The rest of the article rehashes a number of details already reported including the iPad 3’s rumored A6 quad-core processor, Retina display, and the March 7th announcement. The WSJ was not able to confirm if Sprint would carry a LTE version of the iPad compatible with their network.
Hopefully all of these reports turn into concrete information soon. But, the fact the WSJ, The New York Times
, and other traditional news sources are beginning to enter the Apple rumor fracas and pay attention to “people familiar with the matter” means the iPad 3 buzz is reaching a peak. Hopefully the information avalanche occurs soon.
