    This is great news for those of you with jailbroken Apple TV's. Since the release of our jailbreak, there hasn't really been much going on in terms of new software to utilize. The folks behind XBMC (formerly "Xbox Media Center") have managed to bring their software to the Apple TV 2. This means you can decode that awesome 1080p HD content, and utilize the hardware inside your little box.

    Due to the nature of developing for Apple TV, this isn't entirely an easy hack for the beginners. You will be required to use terminal commands, but if your familiar with this it should be a breeze.

    UPATE: also available for iPhone/iPad by adding this source to Cydia and installing

      This is what I use. It's such a great application! This is a reason alone for apple tv!

      Don't bother on the iP4 (yet), it was designed for the iPad.

      That is actually the correct link for ATV2. The original post link was iphone/ipad.

      This could be a reason to get the ATV, hopefully you'll be able to use this o stream from NAS drive instead of just from itunes.....

      Other than being able to play many types of media anyone see the benefit of this install?

      I have a 1TB drive connected to my HD tv's USB port loaded with movies and other media which I can get to no problem.

      The only thing missing from the ATV2 is Hulu+ then I can get rid of my extra PS3 that I use for media streaming.

      everytime i add the source in cydia i get a error.
