  • Change the Color of Siri's Mic with New Jailbreak Tweak

With the A5 jailbreak being released, many of you iPhone 4S users have probably already jailbroken your device after patiently waiting for several months now. With jailbreak tweaks now being accessible on your iPhone 4S, you are probably wondering if there are any 4S specific tweaks out. Luckily for you there is a cool new tweak (which is free) named Siri Mic Colors available.

Siri Mic Colors allows you to do what the name conveys Ė change the color of your personal assistantís mic. The default color as you are probably familiar with is purple. With the addition of this tweak, colors will change based on the intensity of your voice. Instead of the familiar purple, the little mic icon will change colors as you talk, which ends up leading to a pretty suave end result.

For those of you who are interested in getting this tweak for your iPhone 4S, it should be noted that it isnít just available via a search in Cydia. You will need to add the following repo before performing your search:

To do that, open Cydia, hit Manage > Sources > Edit > Add and type in the aforementioned URL. Once you complete this step, you should be able to search and find the tweak (itís called Siri Mic Colors).

We've been informed that this tweak infringes on certain patents, since we don't condone piracy, the links have been removed.

It should be noted that if the whole rainbow color changing mic isnít your style, you also have the option to install a single custom color to replace the generic purple skin for Siri. Amongst the single colors that can be chosen are blue, green, red, and yellow versions.

Is this a tweak you iPhone 4S users are interested in trying out? If youíve tried it, let us know what you think in the comments below!

Anyone have any word on how to extract/ compress .artwork files (which this theme uses). Or, if editing the UIImages of the Siri mic will work in place of how this theme works?

It works by having a .artwork file in /Bundles/com.apple.springboard - which just seems odd.

You'll need PIL to decrypt it.

If you don't have piracy links installed then how do you know that this package was on a piracy repo?

Was the link taken down due to piracy or the fact it was crashing people's iPhones? The install page says install at your own risk in a big red box..that does not sound too promising to me after reading some posts..I think I will pass..

How can it cause loops when it's a theme?

      Are you dumb?
You mentioned that this package was hosted at IHR. Read your comments next time.

Do not download Siri Mic Colors, because if you have to uninstall it, you will lose your original Siri mic and will respring whenever you try and use Siri. The individual Blue Siri mic, green Siri mic and so on use winterboard so they are safe. Sucks I'm going to have to restore my phone to get my original mic back.
