As mentioned before, Microsoft has been getting busy releasing several new apps for the iOS platform recently. As the company continues to roll out apps, one was overlooked - a brand new Halo app built for the iPhone. This app is more useful than the previous Bungie Mobile app which was released a while back.
In Halo Waypoint, users will not only get to see their stats outside of the game, but will also find use for it while they game. In this app, you’ll be able to see games in progress, and even use the included maps (which are in the official strategy guide) to see almost real-time positions for you and your friends while you play. The idea is pretty nifty as it allows you to coordinate and execute some form of strategy while functioning as a small secondary informative screen.
Users will also be able to create custom challenges with the app by setting up a list of criteria for a goal within a certain time limit, then challenging friends to meet the goal. These goals could be anything, for example trying to get a certain number of head shots in the Team Deathmatch game mode. The app pretty much functions as a “game plus” app (an app that supplements a console or traditional video game you may play). As far as this app goes, it’s definitely among the most feature filled versions of any “game plus” apps on the market.
If you are a Halo player at all, we’d recommend picking up the app which is available for free in the App Store.
