Making more headlines than the move probably warrants, Apple is reducing (slightly) the prices of refurbished second generation iPads.
As MMi reported last August 31st, the iPad 2 first turned up on Apple's refurbished product pages with only minimal price breaks over a new product. Still, Apple has seen great success with sales of its previously owned and restored iDevices. And the latest price cut will probably only serve to further that success.
On Friday, without any hype of fanfare, Apple subtly cut the price of its refurbished iPad 2 units. Now, these models are up to $100 less than a new second-gen tablet and between $30 and $50 less than the previous refurbished iPad 2 prices.
The new price ranges look like this (all refurbished iPad 2s):
- 16 GB Wi-Fi: $419
- 32 GB Wi-Fi: $499
- 64 GB Wi-Fi: $599
- 16 GB Wi-Fi+3G: $549
- 32 GB Wi-Fi+3G: $629
- 64 GB Wi-Fi+3G: $729
Although Apple still offers original iPads (refurbished) they are increasingly more difficult to come by.
