    Did you know that the Apple headphones with the inline mic and remote can be used to take pictures?

    If you have ever picked up a pair of Apple headphones with the inline mic and remote and you enjoy photography, you might be happy to hear this. If you've taken an iPhone video or photo before, you might have noticed that it can be a really shaky experience; more so videos than photos.

    The iPhone 4S is already groundbreaking with its photography capabilities. With a 1080p video recording feature and an eight megapixel still photo camera, it's no slouch. Some people go as far as buying tripod accessories for their iPhone. The iPhone 4 is also a pretty decent photography tool. It is still the most popular photo taking device on Flickr; the iPhone 4S is in second, on its way to stealing the iPhone 4's crown as the iPhone 4 plummets and the iPhone 4S rises. It shows that people are replacing their iPhone 4 with the new iPhone 4S for photography.

    If you're one of the few people that likes to use your iPhone for photography, you might like iOS 5's new feature that lets you use the volume buttons to take a photo. This makes it feel more like a digital camera instead of having to use the touch screen to take a photo, which can cause camera shake if you accidentally tap too hard. What we have discovered on Macstories, is that you can use the inline microphone series of Apple headphones to take photos as well. These remotes have volume switches which you can use and you can simply press the volume button and the iPhone will take a picture when it's in the Camera application. What does this mean? It means you can set your camera on your iPhone up for the perfect picture and then you can snap a picture without ever touching your iPhone physically. This means no camera shake or distortion when taking a nice picture, video, or more importantly; a Macro shot.

    I'm not sure how many people take Macro shots on their mobile phones, but the iPhone 4 can take a pretty nice Macro picture. That being the case, the iPhone 4S will simply do a better job.

      I knew about this for a while seems like common sense that it works, but I'm glad this is show for people who may not know.
      Also Anthony I must say I like the articles you write and a lot of them. Gives me something to do with my down time thanks.

      Yeah but since Apple headphones suck who would ever do this?

      I bought some better headphones on eBay for $8 with bass, so much better designed for iPhone money well spent, and that was over 3 months ago

      This isn't about sound quality. iPhone comes with these headphones stock (mine did).

      Apple's headphones are great actually.. They fit in my ear well and the quality is really good so they last a long time. Don't know what you're talking about..
      Besides, if you hate their headphones so much, why the heck did you even click on the article?

      Everybody's ears are different. Apple's regular earbuds don't fit me well. I prefer the in-ear kind better. In fact, I prefer headphones. Headphones sound a lot better.

      I disagree. There isn't really any bass to be heard of but the crisp sound quality is there.

      Minus the sound quality, I think Apple makes some of the best inline microphone and remotes in the business.
