Major Cruiseliner to Pack an iPad in Every Cabin
The high seas are going high tech.
Royal Caribbean announced this week that there will be a resident iPad in every single cabin of its massive 1,804-passenger Splendour of the Seas by mid-February. Officials behind the luxurious cruiseliner say the iPad-in-every-cabin campaign is, indeed, an "industry first."
According to the folks at Royal Caribbean, Apple devices will be added to the cabins of five additional cruiseliners over the next twenty-four months. "Royal Caribbean says the iPads will be programmed to let passengers access the ship's daily listing of events and activities and to see a personal daily itinerary including shore excursions," USA Today reports.
Passengers will also be able to enjoy the iPad for their own fun and leisurely web browsing pursuits. The devices, as you might expect, are being promoted as great tools for passengers to "to monitor their onboard account, order room service, view restaurant menus, access the Internet and watch movies."
Can anyone recommend a decent iPad app for sea sickness?
