How would you like to be able to set a home page right from Mobile Safari?
Home Page in Safari is a jailbreak tweak, by Will Strafach (Chronic), that allows you to easily set a home page in Mobile Safari. That on top of itself, is a great iOS improvement. Home Page in Safari is iOS 5 compatible. When you close all windows in Mobile Safari, a new window will always open with your home page in it.
For example, in the image above, I set Google as my home page. If I close the Google window, it will re-open with a new Google window. This ensures that there is no more blank white screen and it also keeps Mobile Safari from opening with the bookmarks by default. When you open Mobile Safari, it will show the home page that you have selected.
To set a home page, visit a page that you want your home page to be, tap on the action button at the bottom of the Mobile Safari window, and then tap on "Set as Home." From now on, you will always have your homepage (or the last opened page) open in Mobile Safari, no matter what. You will never be plagued by the annoying bookmarks page ever again.
Home Page in Safari works seamlessly with Home Button in Safari, by Fr0zen Sun so that you can tap the, "Go Home" button to return to your desired home page. Pretty useful combination, eh?

I was able to talk with Will Strafach about this tweak and learned a little about his motivation behind it:
Anthony: What gave you the idea to make Home Page in Safari?
Will: I was really just not a fan of always opening to a blank page and since a lot of the time I use Mobile Safari to search something on Google, I made this tweak to allow me to set it as my home page (but you can set whatever you want, of course).
Anthony: What was the hardest part about making Home Page in Safari?
Will: Safari is kind of annoying to write tweaks for, but this one wasn't too much of a challenge thankfully.
Anthony: Is Home Page in Safari fully compatible with iOS 5?
Will: As far as I know, yes.
