  • iOS 5.0.2 Delayed

iOS 5.0.2 may have been delayed so that Apple can fix memory leaks.

iOS 5.0 came with some horrible battery life for some. Luckily, iOS 5.0.1 came to rescue for some. Albeit it helped a good number of people, it didn't help all of them. Apple said that the battery problems were because of numerous bugs and that iOS 5.0.1 only fixed some of the bugs. They promised to fix the rest of the bugs in a future update. The future update is iOS 5.0.2 and it's going to be released in the near future. Unfortunately, it will be released later than we expected it to be.

It appears that iOS 5.0.2 has memory leak issues that Apple needs to fix. For that, they need to delay the release so that they can fix the leaks. A memory leak is when software uses memory although the program cannot use the data stored in the memory. This causes the program to use a ton of memory that it would not usually need. Since the iPhone 4S only has 512MB of RAM, memory is a very diminishable resource. In other words, memory leak on iPhone = no bueno. Apple engineers are hard at working plugging up the battery problems plaguing iOS 5. They are also improving Siri functionality with each release for the iPhone 4S.

As before, if you are looking forward to an untethered jailbreak for your iPhone 4, we recommend that you stay on iOS 5.0. If you updated to iOS 5.0.1 already, then you might as well update to iOS 5.0.2 because either way you're going to be stuck with a tethered jailbreak for a while!

iOS 5.0.2 will probably be released as a beta before we get to see it, so stay tuned and we will let you know when iOS 5.0.2 is released. Keep in mind that it likely will not have any new features. So again, if you're on iOS 5.0, stay on it! There is currently no way to downgrade iOS 5 releases on your iDevice. If you have updated, your best bet for an untethered jailbreak right now would be to downgrade to iOS 4.3.3 using your SHSH blobs.

Lmao just cause it cost more doesn't make it better. My wrx costs almost 10k less than an sti. I've put about 6k in upgrades to motor and suspension and will outrun an sti on a drag strip as well as a race track.

you dont have to be an apple fanatic if you have one of their phones, I personally think PCs are better does that mean I have to go throw my iPhone in the bin? I like my iPhone but they are right it is always full of bugs because all they are releasing new ios' are to chase the Jbkers away
I personally feel updates have nothing to do with chasing away jbkers. Updates are there to make a product better. In the computer world there is no such thing as no bugs. When Microsoft releases a new phone OS and computer OS it's full of bugs that need to be patched or fixed. When google releases there 1000's of android OS's they have bugs that need to be fixed. It's the nature of the beast.

      Simon WAIT
So if 5.0.1/5.0.2 breaks the jailbreak their working on why dont they then release the jailbreak that jailbreaks 5.0 now, they have showed videos so why don't they give us the packages to do it ourselves?

If 5.0.1 and 5.0.2 break the jailbreak then there's no point in not releasing the current jailbreak for 5.0 now instead of waiting?

I think this statement is referring to the fact that you cant restore to older versions of ios5. So if you update your 4s you may not have the ability To jb till its compatible with the OS you updated to

I don't think the 5.0 jb is ready, especially for the 4S/iPad 2. They aren't holding on to it bc they're waiting for something, since Apple already patched the exploit with the release of 5.0.1.

Well what's about it isn't ready? They show us videos of them doing it I'm fine with a tutorial and doing a terminal code route or something like that even if it is tethered

I don't know. It is just what I think. Maybe you should ask them why they're not releasing it.

You might be - but every man and his dog would try it and wonder why it didn't work for them...

It will be released when it's ready, not before.

Personally I think "they" are waiting for iOS 5.1 to be released and verify if the exploit still is there. My "dog" is anxious to JB his 4S.

Guess I gotta slow it down for you simple Crapple users.... The guy posted up saying that you "can't have something work perfectly all the time" I simply gave an example of the many many many things around my house that work PERFECTLY! Yes I included my fridge and stove but I also included several electronic items INCLUDING MY COMPUTER! Funny how you both just disregarded that. But I guess when you got no argument might as well grab hold onto anything you can...

I guess Subrau just decided they wanted to charge more for the STi because a stock WRX is wayyy better than a stock STi. I think you're confusing Subaru with Crapple!

BTW what state are you in? I'm tryin to line up and get this handled, that is if your glass tranny and drivetrain is up to the task. I got no problem traveling a state over in any direction. CASH IN HAND AS WELL, wouldn't wanna waste anyone's time!
