It's no surprise that Steve Jobs was a genius businessman.

Steve Jobs was a genius. He was a business professional, a salesman wizard. If something needed to be done to sell a product, Jobs knew how to do it. In these videos, found by The Next Web, we are able to see some internal videos of how Jobs saw business. We can also see how he ingeniously pieced together data to know exactly what he needed to know to make his company successful. These videos are from when he was with NeXt. But, as we all know by now, NeXt was bought by Apple and Jobs returned to Apple at that time.

In these videos, Jobs sits down with the NeXt crew to discuss what they need to do to provide excellent products. He sits them down to tell them what other companies are doing, and then tries to figure out how to do it better. He looks for weak points in their strategies that he can exploit to come up ahead. He looks for what the market wants so that he can make something that will feed it.

Some of the companies that he examines include IBM, Sun, and HP. We know these names today. IBM is still a company that helps make hardware, Sun hosts Java for us, and HP continues to be an OEM for PC's. Apple, as we know, does all of those things. Apple makes their own hardware, their own software, and their own Java. Steve wanted Apple to do more than one thing, so that buyers into the Apple market would buy into everything else so that everything would just fall into place. That same logic, is the magic behind Apple's multi-billion dollar company today. They are in the personal computer business, the tablet computer business, the smartphone business, the music business, the video business, the software business, the accessory business, and more.

Taking a look at just how Jobs brainstormed with his workers, with these outside-the-box brainstorming sessions, we can see why Apple is as successful as it is today.

Steve Jobs wasn't a Genius, he was A Magpie (which seems to be fair game in the world of computing, had it being in any other field it would be plagiarism or theft)

Edit: he was a Genius if it came to ripping other peoples ideas and selling them in a new way to make a **** load of money, like the computer mouse which belonged to Xerox
Why does the Xerox reference come up so much? He, nor his company didn't steal anything from Xerox (based right here in Rochester). Drag & drop was a Xerox thing that they GAVE AWAY freely since they figured it was useless. At that time there was no mouse and everything was keyed in. It was free for anyone to use, Jobs just happen to be the first one who saw it's true potential. Oh yeah, and if you hadn't noticed PC's use a mouse too... did they steal it from Apple? By your logic it must be true.

And just why is this NakedFaerie character even on this forum? Just to troll for fun?

It's NOT what the consumer wants. We want OUR iPhone the way WE want it NOT the way Jobs wants it. We also wanted it with Flash but we never got it so Apple did it the way he wanted it and he didn't have a clue what the consumer wanted. If the iPhone is so good then why are Android phones selling so well? It's because thats more to what everyone wants. The only reason people still get an iPhone is because the apps are better on the iPhone than on the Android but the Android is a better phone.
The vast majority of people with iPhones do not jailbreak. The vast majority are happy with stock. You are in the minority (along with myself and many others here) that wants more. You can't please everyone, but you can please the majority. That has been done. The majority obviously wants a device that "just works" (most overused Apple mantra ever) even if they have to give up a handful of things to get it.

Steve Jobs apparently isn't liked by some people around here. It's funny that you'd take the time to participate in this discussion to show your dislike in him. That's fine and all, but the issue here is: You talk smack about how he sucks and his products suck, but he's created great products that are incredibly high in demand. You hate his success, so you rationalize that he isn't a genius, and then you attack the article writer. Well that's just trollin' lol. For all you haters out there, if trollin' makes you feel good that's fine, still doesn't change what Apple is today. Whether you admit it or not, people want Apple products. And Steve Jobs whether you think he's a genius or not, has had more success than many of you.

Troll much? I'm sure you knew very well what I meant, you're just trying really hard to be pessimistic about Steve Jobs and anything related to him. I can rephrase: "Steve Jobs participated in the creation of great products that are incredibly high in demand." Better?

And do you think gates single handily built the Zune and windows os? No he had a team. He had ideas and him and his team built it. Just like jobs and his team built the Mac and ect.

But both came up or stole ideas. Genies??? Yes it made them reaches and they both do it well.

"Genius is something or someone embodying exceptional intellectual ability, creativity, or originality, typically to a degree that is associated with the achievement of unprecedented insight."If this doesnt define Steve Jobs then I dont know what does. So all you trolls and haters please just SHUT IT OFF!

Yea... but they didn't. The XEROX ALTO was a dead end and the brass never planned on developing it. Xerox got HUGE stock options as a result of the deal with Apple to show them what they'd been working on with PARC. You can 'say' Apple 'stole' it, but that would be like saying I 'stole' something from a dumpster. They had abandoned it. Apple SAVED it.

The troll aspect is you nit-picking my word choice. Has nothing to do with how you feel about Steve Jobs. If what I said was offensive to you, consider that you knowing I didn't mean Steve created all Apple products all by himself but claimed that's what I meant...is offensive to me.

I don't think anyone troll or not likes it when Anthony posts articles that are very Mac fanboyish, it creats a bias that will create a flame war, but then again this is a Fanboy forum...and the fact that most users are windows users the odds are high that their are a lot of windows users here. I still enjoy these articles no matter what.

Again wow. The intellect of some people amaze me. All great companies copy features from others, its smart. Half of new windows features are copied from Mac OSX.

I am just trolling but chill man besides your intelligence comes into question I stated he took OS freeware and changed it and made it his the features you are talking about are irrelevant to the point I made. I know every one steals ideas when it comes to features.

I only look at Anthony's articles to see when the troll page ends up on page 3
